Description

This piece was done in Photohop 6 and was painted at 18X24 inches @ 300 DPI to ensure the detail came out sharp. Each building was painted on its own layer so I could control the amount of saturation individually. The final 48 layer file was 2.2 gigs (D'oh!!) The model is Linda O'Neil.

This piece was printed up as a limited edition silk stock lithograph. The edition is limited to 500 copies. You can find the lithos in the store section on my site, www.kohse.com.

I like it, but for some reason the face seems to completely not go with the picture. It's too bright and the lighting is really weird. Other than that though, definitely one of your better pieces.

Wow. This sort of reminds me of The Matrix. She's wearing all black causing destruction. The background is okay, but i love the pic very good.

I can see you put a lot of effort into this one. The outfit, her hair, the beat up old car and the buildings and sky are well executed. But, there seems to be an unbalanced mix of style going on in this picture. The sky/clouds are very illustrative, but the buildings are photorealistic. Her face seems almost like a photo but her body seems drawn. The details on the ground are limited compared to the details of the buildings. +6

No the lighting on the head isn't the problem the proportions are wrong with the head kind of like it was glued on. The head is too big for the body. The rest is pretty well done though. Nice idea.

Actually, I think her head is correctly proportioned. It may be -slightly- too large, but if anything is mis-proportioned, I think it's her butt. The butt/hip area is very small. So I disagree with BlueAngel. Most artists draw the head too small, so that's what we're used to.

Well, the woman is wearing a corset. I think that may be the reason for the seemingly odd proportion.

Pretty cool. You've got some nice depth in this, but you probably could have played it up even more, by tinting the distant building slightly the same colour as the sky.
Nice.

Linda O'Neil - Cyberpunk (pencil) <--- same character used right ? that would maybe explain geckzilla's comment on the face, anyway, good piece, i like it !

Whoa, 1.2 gigs?!? Thats crazy but I can see how it would get close to that by looking at the larger version. Thats one heck of a rez your working at there. (+7 just for the amount of work you put in here)
btw this kind of reminds me of the begining of the movie 'Final Fantasy' for those who saw it. ;)

It reminds me of Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within, mixed with Terminator.

The face should have some blue light on it because the rest of the body has it.
The mechanical arm, the upper part is a bit shorter than the real one.
She has rather small feet...maybe too small. The calf muscle is a bit flat.
The butt, way too shiny because the highlight is too harsh.
The blue and orange lighting is confusing as it is on the body and not on the weapon she holds.
The ruins around her are stunning and well done.
Overall nice idea.

Love the artwork, again the only observation I would offer is that the lighting needs modifying slightly. The image suggests that the light on the buildings to the right is coming from the lightning and infront of the model - also suggested by the shadowy end of the left building. However her face seems to have an even spread of light coming from behind and to her right?. Needs toning down a touch and slightly more depth added. Having said that I am very impressed with the overall image. Nice work!

Sorry for the triple posts guys. I seem to be having trouble with the login/update refreshing.

I still think her head is too big compared to her arms and waist. If you take of the head the body seems okay. The why her head is on doesn't match with the shoulders.

Yea, I agree with the lot of people here. On a first look I thought the head was glued on or something. But yeah, the proportions are wrong. The lightning does look a bit wierd. Did u use a reference picture? It could have helped. But the overall idea is good, the execution is what is lacking. Love the body suit tho, and the disarray of buildings.

I like it. The only thing i see that is a little strange is her legs. I'm assuming we are looking at her from behind, yet the parts of the back of her knees look more like the front of her knees..
